FAQ

The artwork is printed on a large format printer using archival inks that are rated to last 200+ years. The paper we print on is museum quality archival 100% cotton rag paper. There are several different types of cotton rag and we work closely with each artist to chose the specific type of paper for their particular paintings, drawings or photographs. Each artist receives an “artist proof” of their print to ensure that our clients are getting the best possible image and color.
A limited edition is a fixed number of prints of that particular image. All of our artists have an original image (photograph/drawing/painting) that they have created. Collected Together then makes high quality prints of that original image and sell a limited number of them. This results in a piece of artwork that is not as expensive as the original piece but still holds a greater cache and monetary value than an open edition print due to the limited number available. Once the limited edition print is sold out it can never be printed again. When you purchase one of these prints you will also receive a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. There are also 2 numbers on the certificate, the first number is the number of your particular print and the second number is how many prints there are in that size of the edition. Limited edition prints are a excellent way to grow an amazing and valuable art collection.
An open edition print has no limit on the amount of prints in the run. The open edition is a really fantastic way to grow an art collection on a budget because the prints are typically a bit less expensive than a limited edition and much less expensive than an original.
Archival ink is specially designed to resist weathering and fading. Over time many inks fade, turn brown and eventually disappear, today archival inks are used in government documents to ensure that they are still legible for future generations. These inks are PH neutral or slightly alkaline so they are not affected by our environment which is naturally somewhat acidic. We use inks with pigment based dyes that are more expensive, but also more permanent. This type of ink combined with our archival paper and proper framing, using UV protective “museum” glass, will provide you with a work of art that will last several generations.
Collected Together has worked with the artist to secure exclusive rights to print the Limited Edition prints we have available. Each of the Limited Edition prints comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist. The Certificate also indicates which number of the edition your print is.
Currently we do not have a brick and mortar location where clients can view the work up close and personal. If you would like to see some of our artists work in person please sign up for our mailing list (in the footer below) and we will let you know of any Collected Together events, viewing parties and when and where artists featured on our site are having art openings.
Currently we use paypal for all payments.

Unpacking your artwork is one of the most important parts of buying a print from Collected Together. Depending on the size of the print, we strongly recommend working with a friend while unpacking. One kink or wrinkle in your print can be devastating. Please Be Careful! With your friends help, unroll the print laying it flat on a clean flat surface and weigh down the edges. Collected Together strongly recommends you have the print professionally framed using UV protective glass or plexi. You might want to take the print in its packaging to your framer and let them deal with the unpacking and framing. We can ship your print directly to your framer if you prefer, just Contact us to discuss.
Yes! We have partnered with Simply Framed to offer custom framing for most of the prints in the collection. The XL prints we offer are too large for Simply Framed, but all other sizes can be ordered with a custom frame. See the Framing page for more information.
